Ways to Serve Mahi-Mahi

Mahi-mahi is a mild tasting tropical fish usually found in warm waters. They are frequently found in the Caribbean, the South Pacific, and Southeast Asia. The name of this fish comes from the Hawaiian language which means strong. Mahi-mahi usually fights when fishermen try to catch them and that is how it got its name. Mahi-mahi is used in many dishes and there are many ways to serve it.
A heart healthy way of serving mahi-mahi is by sautéing it and serving it with vegetables and brown rice. Adding citrus juices to the fish helps bring out the flavors and is a nice touch to this healthy meal.
This fish also tastes delicious when it is grilled. You can make a nice marinade using lemon juice, olive oil, cilantro and salt and pepper to flavor the fish. Throw it on the grill and serve with a nice salsa or salad.
Mahi-mahi can also be baked in the oven. A marinade can also be used to season the fish or you can pour nice homemade vinaigrette over the fish. If you choose to bake mahi-mahi a sesame sauce also works well with the fish.
Overall there are so many ways to prepare mahi-mahi. Once you try one you will probably want to try them all. Not only are mahi-mahi dishes delicious but they are also healthy. Below is a quick marinade recipe that can be used on mahi-mahi:
Juice from 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon of lime zest
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro
Minced garlic
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
